Dr. Kristen Walton, a former SPIRE fellow and now Assistant Professor at Missouri Western State University, received the Research Recognition Award at Experimental Biology 2007 in Washington, D.C. for a poster presented on the use of case studies and data analysis to increase student engagement and learning in a molecular basis of disease course. The poster was co-authored by former SPIRE fellow, Dr. Brian Rybarczyk. The award was sponsored by the Teaching Section of the American Physiological Society.
