Undergraduates Accepted to Present Research Projects

Three students from SPIRE's partner universities who participated in SPIRE's Summer Research Program were accepted to present their research projects at national conferences.

We recognize these students for their scientific accomplishments and congratulate them on the opportunity to share their research findings in the broader scientific community:

Armando Corona (UNC Pembroke) who worked with Dr. Thomas Freeman will present his work titled "Analysis of the Interaction Between Cib1 and Integrin Aiib Through X-ray Crystallography and Nanodiscs" at the ABRCMS conference, in Nashville, TN, November 13-16, 2013.

Deborah Goddard (NCA&T State University) who worked with Dr. Conner Sandefur will present her work titled "ATP Receptor Desensitization Kinetics in Human Bronchial Epithelial Cells" at the National Institute for Mathematical and Biological Synthesis in Knoxville, TN, November 16-18, 2013.

Karla Mendoza (Johnson C. Smith University) who worked with Dr. Emily Moorefield will present her work titled "Aging-associated Intestinal Epithelial Cell Apoptosis and Paneth Cell Expansion" at the ABRCMS conference, in Nashville, TN, November 13-16, 2013.
