SPIRE Community
The SPIRE Program is made up of a diverse, multi-disciplinary team of scientists, educators, postdoctoral fellows and information technology experts.

SPIRE collaborates with eight of North Carolina's historically minority universities (HMUs) to provide Fellows with a mentored teaching and academic experience. Seven of the HMUs belong to the Partnership for Minority Advancement in the Biomolecular Sciences (PMABS), an alliance of scientists and educators from North Carolina's HMUs, high schools and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. This alliance collaborates to ensure equity of access to knowledge and opportunity in order to increase the number and diversity of students pursuing and attaining careers in the sciences.
