Research

SPIRE scholars do everything traditional research postdocs do and more including:

  • Performing original, independent research in the lab setting of their choice at UNC-Chapel Hill.
  • Working closely with Principal Investigators who provide guidance and mentoring on research projects
  • Publishing in peer-reviewed journals, presenting research findings at national and international conferences and participating in journal clubs and laboratory meetings
  • Mentoring undergraduate and graduate students from SPIRE’s partner institutions and UNC Chapel Hill during semesters and in SPIRE’s Summer Research Program.
