Dr. Roland Tisch

I am an immunologist currently working as a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Microbiology. My doctoral work focused on neuroimmune regulation of T-lymphocyte function, with an emphasis on how autonomic and hormonal signaling pathways influenced immune cell metabolism, differentiation, and inflammatory responses. Currently, I am particularly interested in how these mechanisms and pathways contribute to autoimmune diseases such as type 1 diabetes, with the goal of identifying pathways that can be targeted to improve therapeutic outcomes for the future.
