Biography
I earned my B.S. in Biochemistry at Denison University in Granville, Ohio. Not knowing exactly what field I wanted to end up in I joined the Biomedical Sciences Program at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. I then joined the Molecular Biology Training Program and the lab of Jeff Moore in 2018. While in Jeff’s lab I worked on understanding how budding yeast regulate the expression of α- and β-tubulin and the consequences of imbalanced expression. I defended my dissertation in April of 2023 and joined Amy Maddox’s lab in September. In Amy’s lab I’ll be working on how the cytoskeleton regulates germline architecture and development in the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans. I’m excited to join SPIRE to develop my teaching and mentoring experience and build a research program for a primarily undergraduate institution.
